Beyond the Lands of Shoulda, Coulda and Woulda E-mail

about.jpg

"The fishing is always good. It's the
catching that can prove difficult."

“Somewhere out there beyond the lands of Shoulda, Coulda and Woulda is a place called Catch Your Limit.”

Catch Your Limit is way beyond being “just another business”. It is a mindset. And, for the amazing folks who have earned the right to work and play here, who continually strive to live the brand at all touch points; it is a one of a kind place where dreams do come true.

Catch Your Limit Consulting is not for the weak of heart. You have to be willing to accept accountability for your actions and always be on the lookout for ways to help each other as well as our clients to “catch your limit”.

We figure if we preach it, we darn sure better practice it.

And, after extensive research, we can claim we are the only consultancy on this planet that offers management, marketing and fish cleaning services all under one roof.

You’re probably wondering, "Fish cleaning services? What’s that all about?"

It the basis of who we are, that’s all … here’s the story.

Does the world need another consulting firm? E-mail

Blog by Tom Laughon

When we began thinking in earnest about starting a consulting firm we started out by asking the type of people we wanted to do business with what they wanted and needed in their consultants. We also asked if the world even needed another consultant. It certainly has enough consultant jokes. Here’s what we learned …

There’s an Abundance of Gray Haired Experts & Bean Counters

Our target clients described the world of consulting as one where twenty percent make eight percent of the revenue and other than the big traditional firms, a very fragmented category.

There is an extremely low barrier to enter the fray. It is about the height of a well worn speed bump. The investment in a phone, some experience in your category and a client (friend) or two who deems you worthy of dishing out some advice is about all it takes. Gray hair seems to be a trust builder to a certain extent.

So, you have lots of mom and pops and a ton of people in job or career transition that wear the moniker of consultant. It’s one of the best employed while unemployed jobs in the world. You basically hire and work for yourself as long as need be.

The other thing our prospective clients told us is that consultants, by in large, are so systems and process oriented that interpersonal skill sets are often lacking. For the most part, consultants are described as number crunchers (a.k.a. bean counters) who are high on gathering information, but not always able to get into the minds, hearts and souls of the senior level management and guide them on what to do with it.

No More Evangelic Revivalists, Please!

Then, there is the breed of consultants that our prospective clients labeled as “evangelic revivalist”.  The tent goes up. The sinners enter, pay their dues and are duly saved and healed. The evangelists fold their tents in the dark of night and the “healed” return to their old afflicted ways of old. Only the sound of the offering being counted can be heard.

Oh Yeah … Lighten Up a Little.

Leaders expressed the need for consultants with a sense of humor. We all laugh as much as we cry. It can be difficult to see human beings behind all the suits and over starched shirts.

So, we listened! When Catch Your Limit suits up to live our brand, there is no need for starch. In fact, for the guys in the firm, ties constrict the flow of blood to the brain and “big boy shoes” do nothing but slow you down in your race to stay ahead of the fast companies of this world.

We come wearing a smile and maintain a can-do attitude of playfulness and joy. We are inspirational, strategic and hot. That’s right … the energy we bring to the people and the places we visit is contagious.

While building a firm and brand based on consistently delivering what our clients want and need, we’ve discovered what we are best in the world at. It’s energizing, focusing and coaching smart, creative, willing and committed leaders in organizations of all sizes and shapes to make positive change.

We are passionate about guiding our clients in the pursuit to catch their limit. And, this simple focus is driving our economic engine. It’s helping us catch our limit, too.

It’s a good old fashioned win-win. Isn’t life grand when you’re having fun!
